subtitle problem

Postby Guest » 04 Dec 2003 03:18

I'm having problems viewing any subtitles. Can anyone help me with that - I don't what's wrong? The subtitles I'm using have .idx and .sub extensions. I'm running XP. Thanks

Oh, ok... is there any suitable program that can change .idx and .sub into other formats supported by VLC?

hmm; I haven't been able to get *any* .srts to load under mac OSX; are they supported? Is there a trick to getting them playing? (I'm just using the "Open disc" dialogue and selecting the file/subs under the files tab).

request for .sub/.idx support

Postby vomit » 06 Feb 2004 02:37

Hey. I just downloaded this sweet proggie... im so happy with it and went into the forum right away because i had problems playing idx / sub subtitles and found this post, its a BUMMER it doesnt support those formats. Pretty much every movie i have with subs has them in that format, but ill patiently wait. Good job, great proggie. Will try to convert some to srt in the mean time... Don't know with what, though.

later!

In development version they are actually working now atm, we just lack the ability to scale the subtitles from DVD size to DivX size.
So now they work, but you can't see them :(

scaling is a bit of a challange though, i'm not sure when we are gonna fix that.
