option to open videos on a same running player?

I couldnt frame the question right to get the answer @google, so iam asking here,
isnt there any way to open videos the way they open in other players, just click them - the old video closes and new one opens and NOT opening a new instance of the application - one player for watver file is clicked?

Settings - Preferences - Advanced - check "Allow only one running instance" - Save and restart.
