how to get tha controler when vlc in fullscreen?

Postby Guest » 14 Dec 2005 23:07

hello

first of all thank u for this great video player :P
its realy the best video player out there 8)
but there is only one thing that i didn't like about it, or may be bcz i don't know how to do it

well as u know with BSplayer and divx player for example, when u r playin a video on full screen, u can get a kind of little controler, like this one:
Image

u can get that while tha video on fullscreen when u simply just click once tha right button on tha mouse
so with vlc skin2 there is such a controler, but tha plm is that i can't access this little controler while tha video is in full screen, i allwayz hav to switch to windows screen in order to access tha controler
so is there a way, that i can get tha controler, while tha video on fullscreen :?

thanx in advance :)

Settings - Preferences - Interface - Control Interfaces - Enable "Interface showing control interface" - save, restart VLC.

To use this feature, VLC has to be in fullscreen then move your mouse to the top of the screen and the control interface should appear.

A much more simple way is to press "i" while you are in full screen mode.
It's the default hotkey, you can change it in the "Hotkeys Settings".

Does this work just for Windows?

Doesn't seem to work on my Mac.

It works with the wxWidgets and skins2 interfaces (so on Windows, Linux, and other Unices).

AFAIK, it has not been implemented on Mac yet, but it should be very easy to do. It will probably be done before the next release.

Please add this, a Mac controller would be very useful.

This exists for Macs for ages. Just press cmd-ctrl-c while in fullscreen-mode and the controller-window including the playlist will be shown. Click in the video to hide it again.

Okay, I just implemented this mouse-move-to-top-to-show-controller-option on Mac OS X. It will be available in the next nightly build.

Note that the setting to enable this feature moved on all platforms to the top-category of the preferences' Interface-section.
