No.
Having 1 viewer or 1000000 viewers will be exactly the same for the server.

If your network supports multicast, it can support as many viewers as you want (only 1 stream will be sent per network link)

Not that i know. Network hardware documentation usually mentions multicast if it is supported. (look for IGMP or IGMP spoofing)

I want to know the load of CPU when VideoLAN runs. I think it depends on the amount of clients are connected in unicast, so what is the load in a specific processor, let's say P-IV 2.8GHz?
