Different kinds of files.

When I look through video files or music files, I notice that there are different kinds. I found a file that I have never heard of. It's a ASX. What is that and can VLC play those files? Thank you.

ASX is a description file use by windows media player to redirect users to another stream. VLC can use those as input.
