Audio of a mp4 plays fine on MacOS but not VLC iOS

I downloaded a mp4 using FetchV record mode.
The audio of the mp4 sounds fine on VLC for MacOS but sounds corrupted on VLC on IOS.
The exact same file sounds fine playing using native player in IOS Files.
How do I fix this?

What is the audio codec? Can you do a debug log? (to do that, go to settings within VLC-iOS, enable logging, play the file, then go to the "Files" app, navigate to the "VLC" folder and see the "logs" subdirectory)
