Trying to convert video FPS on vlc and getting a MRL error and unable to open file after converting

How can i fix this...i am really new to VLC and its complexities so forgive me for not understanding what you are talking about if you try to help

hi

i am trying to convert a 60fps video to a 30fps video on VLC

I will post the logs in a second hold on

step by step i go to

1. Media > Convert/save
2.add my video under file selection
3. Press convert/save
4.under settings i click the wrench icon and go under video codec and change the fps to 30 and then type in my own name for the profile name and click on save
5. then i click browse in the destination file pane and type in my own name i made up...after which i click save
6. then i press start
7. finished......then i go to desktop and select the new video i made
8. I get MRL error....and i am unable to open the file

i don't get why it doesn't work..

Which profile are you selecting ?
Try with Video H.264+MP3 in MP4 or Video H.264+MP3 in MP4. Do NOT edit the encapsulation settings.

There is no error now but when i open the file all that shows up is a black screen with the vlc icon in it

And for the profile, previously....i just made up my own profile....idk what i did wrong there...maybe i didn't pick the settings right

I've tried with your file and I couldn't encode to H.265/HEVC, I got this error message even though I'm using the regular Vlc v3.0.21 version:

is there anyway to do it in H.265 .....the video itself is IN 265 so i don't get why its not working...can you see why its acting like this? I kind of need it in 265

Also why did you add mp3 onto it...the file itself has no sound on it....is it possible to do the same without the mp3 part? meaning just H.264 in MP4

I don't understand either, it looks like there is some limit for the HEVC encoder of VLC. I'll try to find out which one it is when I'll have some time for doing so.
