Grey Horizontal Lines Throughout Menu and Whole DVD

Postby video45 » 25 May 2024 16:11

I have a new external drive DVD drive. On some dvds I get just a blank grey screen for the menu or I get large grey horizontal lines and artifacts going through the menu and the whole movie. I play the dvds in other players and they work fine, no grey lines. Below is the report.

Below is the log for the grey menu

Intel graphics card:

Code: Select all

avcodec info: Using D3D11VA (Intel(R) UHD Graphics 605, vendor 8086(Intel), device 3184, revision 3) for hardware decoding

Try another video output module:

Your log with OpenGL doesn't show any OpenGL use at all.
Not to mention dozens and dozens of lines like these ones:

Code: Select all

main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 177 ms) main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 144 ms) main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 110 ms) main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 60 ms) main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 27 ms) main debug: picture might be displayed late (missing 7 ms) main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 37 ms) main warning: picture is too late to be displayed (missing 47 ms)

It might be a bug with your video drivers and/or your system.

Well, if it works on one computer but not on another one then it's related to the computer and not to VLC.
