VLC App Severely Lagging, Video/Audio Plays Fine.

I am trying to play a movie, 4K on VLC, and I am getting severe lag to the point where the application will sometimes "Not respond" I cant click any of the stuff on the toolbars, but the movie looks fine as long as i dont touch anything.
i9 9900k
RTX 2080
are my specs
The movie works fine on KMPlayer, but VLC basically crashes, I mean I literally can't touch anything in the app or fast forward, everything except video/sound struggles badly
The movie has HEVC
