Is there a way to add folders as playlist?

Postby MartinDanK » 02 May 2024 21:49

Hello to everyone

Search the forum but didn’t find anything so I hope someone here has a helpful hint for me.

Is there a way in the VLC app for iOS to enter the whole folder just like I can do on android? I found out how to move my files to the CLC folder, but no way to add folders as playlist that always contain the whole file contents from a certain folder.

Is there anyway I can achieve this?

Thank you in advance for everyone taking the time to reply.

We currently do not handle folders that way. You can do playlists within the app, but we do not recognize the folders as groups so far. This feature is requested from time to time and eventually we should really do this.

I was hoping to do this as well since I have my albums organized into directories of audio files.

In the absence of this feature, I tried to add all the audio files, hoping that since they are alphanumerically ordered (starting with 01, 02, etc track numbers) that they would land in the playlist that way.

The result though is very inconsistent. The playlist often ends up in random order. The more songs I add, the more likely it is to be out of order.

Since that did not work I tried creating an m3u file for the mp3s in a directory and opening that with VLC. But VLC does this weird thing continuously flashing the cover art (which I have in the directory as well) and a generic audio icon.
