I just registered, but there seems to be a significant "dropped ball" by the programming community participating in the VLC project. They ask for donations to support the project as folks using Windows 7 migrate away from Windows Media Player, looking for a solution to the cessation of metadata support in terms of CDDB information. I'd have a hyperlink that reads "Donate $5 for a Windows 7 Metadata solution!". The donation would result in instructions as to how to correct the issue. Literally hundreds of thousands of people are currently looking for a solution and it appears "freedb.org" will not not be that solution. I have a new laptop with Windows 10 on it, so I have a work around, but I prefer to use my Windows 7 Pro laptop for this type of activity (cd ripping). Time has value and I've already wasted too much of it on this nuisance issue. I'm confident there will be a special place in the afterlife for lost productivity caused by Bill Gates and the principals at Microsoft!
