VLC fails to play av1 codec movies

As i said vlc has problems playing av1 10bit codec movies movies encoded with nVidia hardware acceleration.
If somebody is interested i can provide a sample.

I tried official release and a nightly build.

Hardware is Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd gen.

btw.: mx player plays the movies fine.

Could you please share some logs? Reproduce the issue and then go to: Settings > Advanced > Debug logs. Then share the logs with the sharing service you prefer (Google Drive, Dropbox, pastebin...).
A sample file would be helpful too.

I don't know if this is important but all the movies i have problems are av1 10 bit HDR. And hardware video output is also set to HDR.

I know how to send files to my computer but don't know where the logs are located.

They should be at your internal memory root. Their name start with "vlc_".
