Little feedback - taskbar controls missing + player unpause itself

hi

i have two issues with VLC

1. I reinstalled VLC player yesterday and the taskbar controls disappeared. I am referring to the controls that appear when you hover the mouse cursor over the VLC app icon in the taskbar.

2. My second problem with vlc is longterm.
When I listen to a stream in VLC (M3U, PLS file) and pause it, VLC resumes playing by itself after a while. This happens without me touching the computer

1. The controls appear not when you hover the taskbar icon but when you right click on it.

2. I don't see how this could happen except if you are using some hotkey (Space bar is one of them).
