WEBM video ends prematurally VLC IOS 3.5.6

WEBM video ends prematurally

VLC IOS 3.5.6
Iphone 13 IOS 16.5.1
150GB Free space

My issue. Recently loaded some webm videos on my phones VLC app to watch while not connected to internet. When playing these videos thet have been ending prematurally. When one ends it advances to the next video and begins playing then again it ends prematurally. The crash time varies by title but always happens at the same time for a specific title. For example video 1 always crashes at say the 3 minute mark, while video 2 crashes at the 3:45 mark regardless of what order they are played. I have a log file but I don't see where I can attach it to this post. Tried including it in the post but it makes the post too many characters.

Titles play fine on my PC running VLC version 3.0.16 and also on Windows Media Player.

Seems like the transfers to your phone are incomplete.

I’ll try to download them to my phone again and report back.

Thanks for the clue.

Well, I re-downloaded the problem titles and now everything is playing normally. So, this points out a UI issue to me which is there is no visual indication about the download progress and completion with the app which is standard fair with most software when doing downloads. Maybe this is something which could be added down the road in a future build. In the meantime I’ll be aware that just because a file says it’s downloaded and the correct running time of the original that this may in fact be untrue.

Thanks for the Info.

Post resolved.

Great to hear that you got it working. Indeed, there is only an error indicator in the website used for WiFI Sharing so far and not within the app. There is also no error indication when using other download means within the app, which is not ideal. Thanks for your feedback!
