VLC playing iptv on MXLinux

When I installed it on linux, I played iptv. It was 100% successful. My m3u list was quite long so I used the search feature in the view / playlist. The result was that I could never play the same m3u list again! VLC simply hangs on for an eternity. I tried to uninstall. I tried several installations (such as appimage) but I wasn't successful. I tried the MX cleanup too. Still no positive result.

On other machine I do play the same m3u list but I never used the search feature. Why does the search feature cause so many problems? I simply cannot understand it! Any help?
