Two bad questions

Postby skuwakin » 24 Dec 2023 10:21

1. I actively use vlm, managed via http, to watch IPTV (PiP, mosaic). Everything works well on good-looking channels. "Miracles" begin on problematic channels. Namely, the del team often does not work out, even del all. And so far I haven't come up with anything better than stupidly removing vlc and running it again. But, you must agree, this is ugly...there may be a more elegant way to close the element. I did not offer the stop command,I used it at first, and there are even more misunderstandings with it. Maybe it can be done in a special way create an element... Omitting the loop parameter helps in this regard. But it's not convenient. And everything would be fine, well, I restarted vlc, threw in the same lines to create vlm and that's it, but no... Here lies the second dirty trick... After starting vlc, sometimes it does not respond immediately to http requests, you have to send a dumb command in a loop, like get a list of vlms, and only after a normal response can you send real commands. Hence the second question...

2. Is this being treated somehow, maybe there is a faster way to bring to life an http server that processes requests for vlm management?

p.s. All of the above has been tested on many versions of 3.xx, including the latest nightly builds.
