This crash occurs every time, and has occurred for many versions previous to 3.0. There is no message at all, VLC just closes. The obvious work-around works: If VLC is launched as an administrator (via the stupid UAC dialog), or is run by a user with administrative privileges, VLC opens UPnP sources as expected. But I just installed VLC 3.0 on Windows 10, and I was hoping that UpNP would no longer be an issue for non-administrators, but alas, no. I tried searching for this bug on code.videolan.org, and I was surprised not to find it. I'll file a report if this is genuinely unknown.
So why does it CRASH? And why does it fail at all?
