an external hard drive. It's where the video file I watched wasWhat is drive H: ? A network drive ? An USB drive ?
Is it any better if you're playing the file from your local drive where the OS is installed ?
I wouldn't know. Most of my video files are on external hard drivesSo I ask again: is it any better if you're playing the file from your local drive where the OS is installed ?
The drive doesn't freezeSo F: is a local drive ? If so, does it freeze as well ?
When I got my new pc F drive seems to work in unison with c drive but I coudn't tell you the details. it's not usb though I can tell you that much.Is F: a local drive or a network drive or an USB drive ?
If F: is a local drive then does VLC freeze as well when you pause a video ?
Edit: For what it's worth I started having problem with vlc when I got a new computer and had to reinstall it on it.

Vlc does freeze AFTER pausing but only SOMETIMES
I don't suppose you can give me advice on said system issue?Edit: For what it's worth I started having problem with vlc when I got a new computer and had to reinstall it on it.
So that sounds like a system problem.

Maybe a RAID configuration ?

And one of the drives is going into sleep/parking mode for some reason ?
Again, to me it's a system issue.
