I have the same problem. 10 days after all these reports & this broken version is still the default download / recommended upgrade?
I downgraded back to 3.0.18, no more crashes. Fortunately, thanks to the archive, this rework went smoothly.

Same issue for me. Vlc crash every time i launch a video. The probleme of the 3.0.19 is not been solved. You should release the 3.0.20 very soon or you will lost many users. I go back to windows media player…

As said before, the issue has been adressed and meanwhile you can use a nightly build like this one:
