Volume shift

Postby Herebyproxy » 03 Aug 2023 00:29

When an audio cut begins playing the volume is loud. The volume decreases for the first ten seconds and settles at the decreased level. The next new cut starts the process again. How do I keep the volume level throughout the entire cut?

An audio file......being a musician we usually refer to an individual song as a "cut"

Set the VLC volume low enough that whatever automatically lowers the volume stops doing that.

VLC itself has no such functionality that would lower volume, so this must be something else on your system.

Sounds like your output volume is too loud and the automatic built-in limiter of Windows is kicking in.

That sounds like a problem with the recording then.

I am also having the same problem. The curious thing is that if I play the same audio file with Windows Media Player Legacy or Clipchamp the file is played without the initial drop in volume.
Has anyone found a solution?
