Sharing via WiFi

So I have VLC loaded on my iPad, and my iPhone.

Sharing Vi WiFi works fine on the iPad, and but is greyed out on the phone. Another app, Bookmobile, has the same functionality, and has failed the same way.

Has anyone had a similar issue, and find a solution?

What kind of iPhone do you have? Which iOS version?

Is it grayed out because VLC says that no WiFi network is available?

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue on a brand new iPad. Of course my device is connected to wifi. This feature works on my old iPad, but not my new iPad. I have enjoyed VLC for many years and hope this can be resolved. Please let me know if I can provide further useful information.

The switch "Sharing via Wi-Fi" is grayed out, underneath it says "No active Wi-Fi connection".

The switch "Sharing via WiFi" works as expected, shows my IP address, and connecting from PC web browser works.

In case it's useful information, in a different iOS app with a similar feature, it says it failed to get IP address, but I already know my IP, and connecting from PC web browser works.

Same issue.
Sharing via Wi-Fi can't be set because it says there is no active wi-fi connection. There is, and VLC has permission to access local network.
