Resume takes a long time if i was far into the video

I often listen to videos that are over an hour long.
For example if I play video "A" up to the 55 minute mark then switch to video "B", the next time I play video "A" it can take SEVERAL MINUTES for VLC to seek to the 55 minute mark and playback to start.
Is there any workaround for this?

I just discovered that if I close VLC and "Force Stop" it through the Android settings "Apps" screen, and then start VLC resume is nearly instantaneous, but after running just a couple minutes seeking becomes very slow again.

Sorry about your issue, could you please enable logs (More -> Settings -> Advanced -> Debug logs (at the bottom)), reproduce this, and then send us a copy so that we can see what happens ? I've never had this issue.
