If ChromeOS no longer supported, perhaps remove page describing it?

Postby rasputingy » 16 Mar 2023 17:24

Looking at the reviews in the Chrome OS store, the last several observe that although the package can be accessed, after installation and launching a blank screen is presented and nothing further. A search of this sub-board finds a post from Nov 2022 in what a developer observes that this port is discontinued.

Call me old-fashioned, but even as busy as I know all the VL volunteers are, perhaps it would in the long run save time rather than take time to remove the page https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-chromeos.html and links to it on the videolan site, and remove the listing for it on Chrome OS store.

Hope that helps!

Concur; it's not helpful to guide readers to this dead end.

Well, you can search for the Chrome OS download of ARC runtime, download it, install it, and then close and reopen VLC.
