Cannot find details on downgrading to 3.3.x for iOS

Postby Patchyr » 21 May 2023 00:36

As per title, where to find .ipa binary/build number for latest 3.3.x for iOS? I believe it is 3.3.12 .

The latest 3.4 updates have kneecapped my VLC usage on iOS hard with massive (song scroll + skipping) performance drop + inability to double tap to scroll songs 10 second forwards/backwards, and I am struggling to find a way to downgrade. https://get.videolan.org/vlc-iOS/ is only showing 3.2.9 and going to 3.4.0 after. I have scoured the internet for any other way to find it, however I am struggling to find anything, except for rare mentions of changelog and a rare 3.2.x version. The build number is for bypassing the iTunes download, where I send the request for the 3.4.x and on the fly replace it with downgraded 3.3.x version

Would appreciate any link/help.

You are indeed correct. It seems that the whole series of 3.3.x was never put on that server. I still have the binaries.. somewhere.. I can see if I can do something to fill this gap, but it will take time.

However, regarding the problem during audio playback that you are describing: this is fixed and we will provide version 3.4.4 to have correct playback!

FYI, version 3.4.4 was released in the meantime to address the audio playback problem and the website was updated to cover the 3.3.x release series with sources and binaries.
