VLC Player bug on Samsung Dex

Hi,

I've been using vlc player since a while on my samsung S20 fe in combination with DEX since a while now and I'm loving it.
But after updating to the newest version, I always have the problem, that when I start a movie and switch to fullscreen mode, the top window bar won't disappear any more, it is always visable active, also when I don't have any mouse activation. I searched everything inside the vlc settings but could not find any option to switch to autohide of the topbar. How can I get rid of it?

Sure, here it is. The top bar won't disappear when I maximize vlc player to fullscreen, it was no issue before last update.
Tried everything, cleaned the cach and data, then deinstalled and installed again, still happens everytime, I canot get rid of this top bar.
Is there a special setting, in the vlc app, or in the android/DEX settings which I missed?
Any help would be useful!

This bar is not part of VLC but added by dex. Are you able to have another app playing full screen in dex mode? YouTube for example.

Yes, youtube fullscreen no problem, or other streaming clients like Arte are working in fullscreen without this navigation window bar

It seems to be a bug that appeared with a recent(?) Samsung update. I tested it with my Samsung device that had an old system version and it was working great, but I could reproduce after a system update. This issue is now tracked here: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc- ... ssues/2930

Thank you for reporting this bug to the official videolan developer site, I was wondering why not more people mentioned this issue yet ^^
Yeah let's hope that it will be fixed soon, maybe also with the next Samsung system update

I did because I'm part of the dev team
I fixed the issue. It was due to a recent change in Dex to what is considered a fullscreen app.

Nice to read that you fixed the bug. Did you already release the new version?
I just deinstalled the old vlc player and updated to the newest version, also updated the recent samsung android update, but the top bar is stell there at DEX fullscreen view...

Sorry for the confusion, the fix has been made but won't indeed be available until next release. It may take some time.
