Media not showing up from UPnP server on iOS or Apple TV.

I have an Ubuntu Linux PC running a UPnP server that is visible to all devices on my network. However, VLC on my iPhone and iPad (3.2.13) and Apple TV (3.0.12) cannot see any of the media. The server shows up just fine but when I open the media server in the VLC apps, my Apple TV VLC says "Empty Folder" and my iPhone and iPad show the constantly rotating wait symbol. VLC on my MacBook (3.0.14) CAN see and play all the media content as can my Sony TV's native UPnP media viewer. To recap, VLC sees the UPnP content just fine on my MacBook but not on my iOS/tvOS devices. I can also report that the Apple TV app 8player can see the UPnP media with no problems.

It's Rygel. It comes native on Ubuntu 20.04 and is easily activated via the control panel.

We need to fix quite a few things on the player. Not sure yet.

This sounds very similar to an old bug that affects Universal Media Server, reported here https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=134806

I believe so, yes, because the newly used UPnP stack is completely different from the past.

I have the same issue with Apple TV 4K (3rd gen) with tvOS 16.3 and latest VLC (none beta).
The UPnP server is visible on the iPad Pro (4th gen) with iPadOS 16.3 and VLC v.3.3.12.

I have a similar problem. The iOS app accepts NFS servers and plays back media, but the Apple TV only shows a tab between Plex and SFTP called SAR and when you add a server address that has NFS advertised, the app properly detects it but when you open it, it only displays the spinning icon over the "Empty Folder" VLC cone.
