Siri Remote (2. Generation)

Postby h4rp00n33r » 09 Jun 2022 13:45

Hey folks,

with the second generation of the Siri Remote it's possible to use the click-and-touchpad as a clickpad only. The touch capability can be switched off. Using this clickpad-only mode makes the remote control much more precise than that glitchy touch mode.
On the other hand the usual navigation of the vlc player is totally broken. Fast forward works not very well and backward is completely broken.

Can you please look at this?

Thanks a lot and greetings

I have the same issue. I am very surprised not to see more users with this issue on the forum.

Thanks a lot for the report. We have an issue about that on our bug tracker and will take a look. Frankly, we were not aware of this mode of the new remote. Details here: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc- ... ssues/1404

It’s the same behaviour with click-and-touchpad on the latest Apple TV and TVOs 16.1.

Hello,

We are currently preparing the 3.4.0 release of the application, and this issue was not part of our priorities.

But some changes and fixes are scheduled next for the tvOS version and you can count on seeing this issue fixed later this year.
We are aware that the tvOS version has not been receiving a lot of attention recently, but this is about to change.

Thank you for your feedback!

We added a fix to this problem in version 3.4.0 that was released last week. Can you test and verify?

Yes, it seems like you fixed it. Clicking left goes 10 secs back and clicking right goes 10 secs forward. Works in click only and click and touch mode.

Thanks for fixing it.
