Subfolders of current folder not displayed with Media > Open Folder

Hello and thank you for creating this excellent software. I seem to have encountered a problem when opening a folder containing folders that themselves contain folders of media files – in other words, three levels of folders (let's call them levels 1, 2, and 3). When I open the sole folder at level 1, VLC correctly lists the media files in the first level 3 folder in the first level 2 folder. But its other level 3 folders are not displayed, and each one only appears when the last media file in the current folder finishes playing.

Apparently we cannot upload screenshots into our postings, but here's an example without screenshots: Say the level 1 folder is named "music", and within it are three folders (at level 2) containing the music of three different artists: AlmaNova, Angel Sanctuary, Chris Britton. Within the first of those (AlmaNova) there are five folders (at level 3), one for each album: "2006 - Debut", "2008 - Classic Giuliani", etc. When I go to Media > Open Folder, and I open the top level folder "music", as expected VLC displays the names of the songs in the first album ("2006 - Debut") and below them the names of the other two level 2 folders ("Angel Sanctuary" and "Chris Britton"), but fails to show the other level 3 folders/albums for the "AlmaNova" folder. So within the user interface, there's no way to see which AlmaNova albums will be played next and thus no way to go directly to any of them and start playing any particular song within them.

The second level 3 folder ("2008 - Classic Giuliani") is displayed only when the last song ("Song for Marcus") in the current folder ("2006 - Debut") finishes playing and VLC moves on to play the first song ("Grand Duo Concertante") in the second folder ("2008 - Classic Giuliani"). At that point, the three subsequent level 3 folders are still not displayed.
