VLC not auto-updating from 3.0.16

Postby guyinamask » 04 Dec 2022 17:56

As the title says, since updating to 3.0.16 on June 2021, VLC kept saying "you have the latest version of VLC media player" whenever I checked for updates.

I had to manually update to 3.0.17.4, now it's not auto-updating to 3.0.18.

I posted on reddit about this https://www.reddit.com/r/VLC/comments/y ... indows_10/, and I'm not alone facing this issue.

VLC 3.0.17.4 64-bit running on Windows 10 64-bit

Auto-updates are delayed a bit compared to the binary release (in case something goes wrong). I seems that 3.0.18 auto-update has been pushed this morning

@chubinou Yes, the the auto-update dialog box showed up for me yesterday (December 9).

The issue with 3.0.16 was particularly weird. I went for 16 months without any update :-| .

I manually updated to 3.0.17.4 two months ago.
