Can VLC predetermine the streaming quality?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Can VLC predetermine the streaming quality?

Postby Mzungu » 23 Nov 2022 10:22

I'd like to download for my son some WorldCup Football matches, which are taking place when he is still in school. 1280p50 is my favorite choice. 8)

Unfortunately one channel tries to patronise me with switching between different qualities — which leads to freezes and an odd recording:

Code: Select all

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="Das Erste HD" tvg-id="DasErste.de" group-title="IPTV-DE" tvg-logo="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jnk22/kodinerds-iptv/master/logos/tv/daserstehd.png",Das Erste HD https://mcdn.daserste.de/daserste/de/master.m3u8
My question: Can VLC identify to the streaming server as only and solely 1280p50/25 capable hardware?

Thank you in advance! :)
