VLC doesn't display track names for CDs

Currently running VLC 3.0.17.3 on Ubuntu 22.04 (...or somethin'). I have "start VLC on CD audio insertion" (see picture below). VLC starts playback just fine upon inserting an audio CD, however it doesn't display tracks or any other metadata. Interestingly, metadata display happens just fine when starting playback via the "Media/Open Disc" menu! (And yes, I have the right "CDDB Server" set, as per https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=155259.)

Thank you. As I was trying to explain, metadata display works just fine when starting payback via the "Media/Open Disc" menu(!), yet it does not work when playback happens as a result of inserting the CD via the autoplay mechanism (see picture below)! Again, if you insert a CD and playback starts automatically, metadata will not be displayed!


And yes, as I was also explaining, I already have the proper "CDDB Server" settings, as it can be seen in this screenshot:

Can anyone confirm this please? Is this a bug?
