Rip shows 1hr 15min processing, but results: only 11 sec FBI splash screen

Postby BarryLaDuke » 10 Oct 2019 19:25

I have a DVD that contains a menu for "Play," Chapters", and "Extras." I have tried multiple settings to convert to MP4

- with DVD menu and without

- starting rip at chapter 0 and at chapter 1

Each time it results in only the 11 sec FBI warning splash screen. During the rip, it shows the 1:15:xx movie length and takes several minutes to rip.

What am I doing wrong?

I have this same issue. Have you found a solution?

Try this:
Tools -> Preferences -> Show settings: ALL
Input codecs -> Access modules -> DVD with menus
Untick the option "Start directly in menu".
Save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.

But ripping might be easier with Handbrake:
