"Always On Top" isn't always on top

Sorry if that subject confused you. What I'm trying to say is, on macOS (my version is Monterey), my VLC window gets pushed to the back by other windows, even though I have the option "Always on Top" checked in the settings. This may be an issue with Monterey's and Big Sur's GUI code being different than Catalina's and all prior versions, but I want this fixed. Pronto.

Is this with VLC 3.0.17? Is it all apps that can overlay their content or just some specific?

Yes, the latest version(18), previuous one sometimes work sometimes no(17). Another problem with command line...You are full of bugs.
It is not important that you are nonprofit organisation, the most important is that your product WORKS. You fix one thing, spoils another, .... fix another, spoils the first....

So, I play VIDEO playlist. If random is checked, every second time I start this VLC, I get error window(cannot find ....), but it plays.

MPC-HC is PERFECT application for VLC.

Even 3.0.2 sometime Always on top sometimes not. I am so interested in how you can make something like this. It is not easy. You have to be so talented.... Just to tell you that I have a little experince in programming, Sofware Developer, C++, VC++, so I think I know a little bit what I talk about. You cannot make it so bad because it is free.

Try this in Windows, if you did not try it:

SetWindowPos(hWnd, &wndTopMost, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE|SWP_NOSIZE);

where hWnd is handle of your main window. I succeeded from another process(my process) to set VLC ialways on top using this function.

Please don't go this way. The fact that no one pays the devs DOES mean they do not have to have a solution for any problem. No one forces you to use this product...
