Save Instructional DVD to Hard Drive to play remotely?

Postby g725s » 30 May 2022 23:32

Hello I'm new here. But not totally new to VLC.

If I am posting this in the wrong section, please let me know.

I have a few guitar instructional DVD's that have a navigation menu. I would like to copy them to the hard drive on my NAS and play them remotely via my iPad that I can set on my music stand.

I have other items I play via VLC on my iPad from my NAS, but they don't have a navigation menu.

Is it possible to copy to hard drive an instructional DVD using VLC that has a Navigation Menu and then play it back remotely from that hard drive also using VLC and still be able to Navigate it using the Menu?

In general VLC can play ISO images of optical disks. I don't know how well that will work in your specific case. It's not really meant to be streamed.
