Trying to convert .swf to mp4 and get this error message

Hi, I'm very frustrated and hope somebody can help me. I'm new to video so please bear with me.

Trying to convert .swf file to mp4 (H.264 + MP3) and I get:


Streaming / Transcoding failed
It seems your Libav/FFmpeg (libavcodec) installation lacks the following encoder:
H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10).
If you don't know how to fix this, ask for support from your distribution.

This is not an error inside VLC media player.
Do not contact the VideoLAN project about this issue.

I've googled and did not find answers.

Hi fkuehne I upgraded to the latest VLC version - Version 3.0.16 Vetinari (Intel 64bit)
