control&ObjectID=0 Message

Postby VGuitarist » 09 Apr 2022 03:46

The latest update displays control&Object=0 when browsing my local DLNA server on both iPhone and iPad. It is at the top of the screen and wasn't there in previous releases. The version is 3.3.3 build 423

I'd attach a picture, but I can't find the upload button.

Not sure if it matters, but I have a Mezzmo DLNA server.

Hello,

This is a bug in the new UPnP stack. I know that you'd expect the name of the server at the top level.

As this is a visual artifact only, we went ahead with the release. It will be fixed though.

Thanks!

I don’t this this is a “visual artifact” bug only. Ever since this started to show in place of my server name, VLC has failed to download videos. Attempts to download yield the same brief “downloading” message as always, but files never appear in the video library.

These 2 issues are caused by the same change. We switched from upnpx to libupnp for the UPnP support. However, the incorrect top level folder name does not cause the downloads to fail. In the latest update of VLC-iOS, i added the feature to list recent downloads in the "Downloads" section within the Network tab of VLC. Is your media listed there? Can you play it there? Note that the list will clear as soon as you restart the app.
