Same here. Nothing works. I tried mpg, mp4, avi, and mkv.I have installed the update to version 3.3 on my Apple TV HD with TVOS 15.4. The connection via SMB to my NAS works without problems. However, I can no longer play any media, neither videos nor music can be started. The same update 3.3 on my iPad and iPhone works without problems.
Using x-callback-url or the Open Network Stream panel?I was streaming over HTTP, but VLC doesn't seem to be able to open URI-encoded addresses.

Hi. I'm having the same issue on an old iPad 2 (IOS 9.3.5) and the workaround (portait mode) doesn't even work for me. The "loop" or "shuffle" icons never shows. This means I can't loop videos anymore.Hello! It looks like the shuffle/repeat options don't appear on the video player interface if you launch a video in landscape mode.
A workaround I found is to either launch the video starting with portrait mode, or to switch it from landscape>portrait>landscape.
EDIT: I'm using an iPhone XR for the record.
You can't, that is not how it works, your TV will play files direct from the USB Stick, but I have never seen a TV that was able to share the files out to the network from a USB Stick. This would require it to run a server, network shares settings up, authentication etc etc. If you want to play the files you will need to put them on network accessible storage.New to VLC on Apple TV and forum; installed VLC3.3 on Apple TV running tvOS 15.4 on a smart TV. How can I access files on a memory stick plugged into the smart TV?
I have installed the update to version 3.3.1 on my Apple TV HD with TVOS 15.4. Same Problem.Exactly, on AppleTV I can browse through the folders via SMB without any problems, but when I want to play something the screen briefly turns orange and "Please wait" appears, then the directory where the media is located is displayed again.
Thanks! The “hardware decoding” switch-off fixed it.Color rendering wrong here on IPad as well (all green/magenta). I noticed that when I turn off "hardware acceleration" in settings the colors look fine again. Don't even dare updating on AppleTV 4K for fear of breaking SMB again.
Exactly the same here. The problem started with v3.3.0 and it is the same with v3.3.1…I experience the same behavior as described by @bkh and @yoshiyike on my Apple TV 4K.
The playback of files via SMB or NFS with version 3.3.0 and 3.3.1 is completely broken.
Quite a bummer, as it was working flawlessly before…
