How to re-migrate photos from VLC back to iphoto
When i updated my IMac (im on version 10.11.6 El Capitan) all my photos migrated from the then iphoto app to VLC. How do i get them back to my iphoto?

VLC does not know the concept of importing media and is very bad at handling photos (it will show them for 10s as a kind of slide show, but no effects and no way to organize). I fear that your problem is not with VLC.
