Music file name changes when changing to next or previous track (Upnp server)

Postby kungfukenny » 06 Jan 2022 02:55

I am on version 3.4.3 beta 6.
So I connect to a Upnp server through local network. All files have been tagged already. But when I change to next track or previous track or any other track on the album the names change to numbers or for example "03%20trackname%20"
I have tried using other apps to see if the problem was in the files. But they work fine.

This seems to be a really pesky and persistent bug indeed - it's been 'fixed' multiple times and yet keeps rearing its head again and again!

Numbers replacing actual file names

I am not able to reproduce unfortunately.

Could you please share some logs. Reproduce the issue and then go to: Settings > Advanced > Debug logs. Then share the logs with the sharing service you prefer (Google Drive, Dropbox, pastebin...).

If this log doesn't show the problem I will re send a new one (just in case the logging missed the error)

I guess it has been renamed to "1037596.mp3" in that case, right?

Unfortunately, the logs are not enough to understand what happened. Could you also provide your database file? To do so, Settings > Advanced > Dump media database.

You can then share the "vlc_media.db" file that will be at the root of your internal memory. You may want to share it privately (you can send me a private message here) as it will contain all of your media.
