Double clicking a video file can not open vlc skinned?

is it possilbe to do something so that when you double click on a video file it will open in the skinned interface? i've been through these forums for an hour, discovered how to make the vlc shortcut open in skinned, but have not been able to discover how to achieve this when double clicking on an avi/mpeg etc file.
double clicking on any video file seems to always revert to the wxWidget.

help?

that's one of the pages i viewed, and with those changes made, i still have the same problem. i can open it skinned if i use the vlc shortcut, but not if i open vlc by double clicking on a video file.

when i tried the third suggestion, of changing

#intf=
into
#intf=skins2

and double clicked a file, the wxwidget opens again, and the config file automatically changes itself back to plain old #intf=

You have to remove the #
the # as first character means that this line is a comment
