VLC Memory Leak when play Multicast feed

Postby banshee1971 » 22 Dec 2021 16:11

We are using VLC to play multicast feed in our environment, we notice since the begening, that the memory usage of VLC increase at a rate of 12 Mo / min.
If i leave VLC open on a RTP multicast stream for less than 24 hrs, i reach 13 Go of memory usage. The memory still increase, but the stream stop !

I open the VLC with this command line : vlc.exe -vvv --network-caching=100 --sub-track=0 rtp://@239.11.169.13:5000
We are using real-time encoder, to the delay is minimal between the video input, and the VLC displayed (arround 363 ms)

Is it a normal behaviour to see the memory increase when playing a multicast Stream ?
