Thanks for posting the log.

Code: Select all

direct3d9 debug: Direct3d9 Device: NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600 10de 19e a2 direct3d9 debug: inclinometer not found. (hr=0x80070490)

It's possibly due to the type of video card you have in your PC. As can be seen in this link the Quadro FX is a professional graphics card which means it's aimed at CAD (Computer Aided Design) rather than users. Nvidia reduced the number of shaders to 96 compared to the GTX 8800 which has the same GPU and 126 shaders.

In the Preferences / Video button / Output menu it's advisable to switch it to Direct3D9 since the feature support is only DirectX10 for that card.

The missing Inclinometer can be download from here although I'm not absolutely sure if it plays a major role in vlc. Maybe one of the devs can advise on that score.

Thanks very much again.

I changed to Direct3D9 but nothing changed but, then I decided to try OpenGL video output for Windows - it worked!
