Getting Floating Finger?

New to VLC. Downloaded and installed on Mojavi and get a translucent image of a floating finger in grey pointing up. No other program does this. What, if anything does this signify? And how do I get rid of it?

I already figured this out but couldn’t figure out how to post an image. This was actually my computer telling me to upgrade to a slightly newer OS. Never seen this before. Once done, finger went away.
