Delete after watch

Postby quazi » 12 Nov 2021 07:39

I want to delete some series episodes after watching. Is it possible to add something like --delete-after-watch param to cli?

This story still about manual file removing. One by one. But I want to run something like

Code: Select all

vlc playlist.m3u --delete-after-watch
or

Code: Select all

vlc *.mp4 --delete-after-watch
to have only not yet viewed series and to reduce manual and repetitive actions.

Maybe even better to run some script after watch and pass path in params. And script can do something like
- save file to lib as watched
- remove file from drive

You can always modify the player to do whatever you want. It just seems extremely hazardous to automatically delete files that way.

If it will be just "call after watch" script it is not a vlc responsibility. Let it be --call-after-watch param as I described in last message
