Video not centered when using HDMI output on OnePlus 8

Postby thomieboy1997 » 24 Jun 2021 22:18

Hi everyone, I recently bought a OnePlus 8 smartphone and would like to use it during traveling to play video on a TV using a USB-C to HDMI converter. VLC seems to support only sending the video output trough HDMI and leaving the phone screen off (which is fantastic), but it seems that in this mode, the video is not centered. I have tried switching the aspect ratio modes (Best fit, fit screen, fill etc.) but this seems to only stretch or zoom in, never vertically center it whilst maintaining the correct horizontal scaling. Let me know if I need to test out different things.

Extra info:
- VLC for Android: Revision: 13e15aa9d VLC: 38efa6451 (2021-01-20)
- Reported display input resolution: 1920x1200@60Hz
- File resolution: MKV File with AVC video @ 1920x872

I'm having the same problem, using Samsung Galaxy Note connected through HDMI to a TV.

Any help?

Unfortunately, I have not found a fix for this yet :(
