Speed Playback Help

Im having a issue when watching video on vlc media player where the footage speeds up for a few seconds and then goes back to normal speed - could anyone please advise how i could possibly fix this Thanks

More info needed about your OS, your VLC version and your hardware.

And please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.
