VLC or other means: browse and download (not stream) from remote media pc over wan?

Postby AtariBaby » 26 Sep 2021 16:17

My family lives in a place with horrible 7mbps dsl. As a result, if we connect to my plex server at home, they transcode at roughly 720p. Not good visual quality by today’s standards.

One option would be for them to access files remotely and download them to their xbox one, then play them following day on vlc. But is this possible?

The xbox one plex client doesn’t offer a download/sync option, right? Can it be done with VLC somehow?

Xbox File explorer somehow? 3rd party app?

It’s a remote location, so it must happen across WAN, not LAN.
