Video scrolling

Postby pacificus » 05 Aug 2021 19:40

I've just switched to Mac from Windows. Unlike the Windows version of VLC Player, the Mac version does not allow scrolling through video - ten seconds at a time - using a mouse scrollwheel when the cursor is held over the video progress bar.

Is there a way to activate this function in Mac, or does it simply not exist? I know this function is available using the left and right cursor keys on a keyboard, but I really need the scrollwheel to operate this function.

Thanks.

We don't have this feature on macOS, sorry.

However, you can swipe horizontally on the video to seek.

Thanks. I suppose asigning mouse buttons to left and right cursor controls would be a compromise. There isn;t enough control in swiping; if I want to skip ten seconds, it's more likely I'd go forward 3-minutes instead. The Windows VLC Player is far better than the Mac version.
