Apple tv search subtitle not working

I am playing videos from my network drive but recently the search subtitle doesnt work. Its been a while and nothing show up when searching. I tested to play the same file from my ipad and it can search perfectly. Anyway to fix this?

But it shouldn't be server problem because i tested at the same time using my ipad VLC the search from opensubtitle.org works.

Can TvOS VLC work with SRT files as a temporary solution?

The code on Apple TV and iPad to search for subtitles is 100% the same. However OSO is unreliable at times.

VLC on Apple TV can read SRT files located on local servers next to their media. Regrettably, there is no user interface to play any random srt files stored somewhere (including on device). Technically, this would not be a problem but we did not do a user interface for this.

There’s already a SRT located on local servers but it doesn’t seem to read. What’s the instructions for that? I can see that is already named exactly same name as the media file.

Yes. It does this already. If the SRT is in the same directory (and the same name, other than the .srt part, I think) it is the first option. This has worked for a long time now.

Mine doesnt work, may i ask how did u do it? I am watching videos from UPNP.

Can anyone be able to use subtitle functions on appletv share their tips? I cant get it to work even theres a SRT file in the same folder as the media file. Is it because of encoding or fonts as i have not changed any of the default settings. Thanks.
