Disable snapshot thumbnails in VLC Mac?

Postby rigoletto » 24 May 2021 02:25

I'm pretty sure there is or was an option in VLC preferences to disable the thumbnails that flash up on the screen when taking snapshots. Does anyone know where I can find it?

On the VLC for Windows forum, there's an answer to this question but the preferences panel in Mac seems to be quite different so it's of no help.

Thanks!

This is quite hidden indeed. Click on "Show all" in the Preferences dialog, then on Video on the left and uncheck "Display video snapshot preview" on the right (you need to scroll down). Save and restart VLC.

Thank you! I had looked there previously but hadn't found the option because I had been searching in the subheadings of Video (subtitles, filters, etc.), not directly in Video itself.
